A Literary and Political Pedigree

1/3/2016

Some years ago, Modern Age published an essay of which I am especially proud, "Conservative Critics of the Bourgeoisie."  After the fashion of Russell Kirk's The Conservative Mind, it tries to outline a tradition of minds who help us to understand the sustained conservative critique of the modern West for its tendency to melt all things into air in the context of conservatism's defense of western civilization as a whole.  Modern Age does not have much of an online presence, and so I have uploaded a copy of the article to the selection of Political and Cultural Commentary stored on this site. Click the portrait of Russell Kirk to read the article, or click above to visit the Commentary archive.
