New Work in Measure: A Review of Formal Poetry

9/2/2016

Anyone interested in the art of poetry as an actual art form already knows about Measure: A Review of Formal Poetry.  It would be too crude to call it the house journal of the new formalism, but it certainly is a clearing house for the work of the poets I most admire and who practice the art with seriousness.

The new issue features my "Bright Apples," part of a series of short narratives that will feature in my next collection, The Hanging God.  To my surprise, the editors also reprinted an interesting selection of three poems from Some Permanent Things.  So, if you are looking for a good magazine that represents well the best of contemporary verse and which also gives you a chance to take a slightly extended look as my own work, click the picture at left.

Other featured poets include William Baer, John Ridland, Catharine Savage Brosman, Catherine Chandler, Paul Lake, and Andrew Frisardi.
